Emmeline, aka Emmeline Armitage, the daughter of poet and playwright Simon Armitage, is a singer/songwriter and poet who cites FKA twigs, Loyle Carner and Frank Ocean as musical influences.
After studying English at Oxford University, Emmeline won SLAMbassadors, a national slam poetry competition, and in October 2022 released her debut EP, Satellite Navigation System, with the backing of producer Fraser T Smith and his label 70Hz Recordings. Since then, Emmeline has released her second EP, Small-Town Girls and Soft Summer Nights, and received praise from The Observer, Sunday Times, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music.
